Thx i did it  and now its Olinex 2.53  Grin, it was a mistake i did when i rename the file via file explorer from my phone it appeared RUU_signed.nbh i edited to TOPAIMG.NBH but i didn't realize it only let me edit the name but not .nbh so when i renamed the file , from file explorer it appeared TOPAIMG.NBH and from mass storage  via computer it appeared TOPAIMG.NBH.nbh and that was the problem , my bad anyway Undecided  thx everyone.

Let us know how you like the Energy ROM.. love mine and STILL haven't explored it 100%!
 The HomeTab Editor is my fav and my 2yr. old loves the weather animations ..  Roll Eyes Especially with the current thunderstorms rolling through Central Texas. (Can we say constant updating to get the lightning to flash?)

Energy rom looks awesome and runs pretty well , the animation it's unique thats what i like from windows mobile, so many modifications you can do , but i would like to try cheetah rom, i read in this forum that it runs lightly , 1 day i would try it only for testing but energy still my favorite.  Cool

I may test others eventually, but not till I hear more on over flashing issues. Been hearing a few forums expressing concerns of possibly harming the phone. Figure I'll just wait a month and watch the debates.

 Well, opinions still vary- some say just re-flash as much as you like, others say you could damage the "motherboard" (per se) of the smartphone. Any one else have opinions on this; pro or con?

Kewl!  I'm still running my May 1st, a few minor issues have cropped up but MAY be user errors so I haven't been overly concerned about them. Normally a phone reboot clears them up and I just continue on my merry way.

 Hello and welcome! You can find some fine directions under Inman's Start to Finish area. Start with the HardSPL topic before concerning yourself over ROMs. You HAVE to do this first or stand a very good chance of jacking your phone up. Feel free to ask any questions there if you need something cleared up.

I installed the May 28th version of 23569 and wondered what the SMS / MMS issues were that recommended the update to the messaging client.  I've seen some oddities but the HTC message client listed on the Energy forum nearly locks the phone when used.

Also, Does anyone know how to reconfigure the action buttons.  I searched the XDA forums with no luck.  I'd like the gps button to launch Garmin instead of google if possible but don't see a way to do it.

  To be honest, I'm not too sure on the SMS issues. I still run the May 1st  21 series and haven't seen any real SMS problems. I did install it as the Chef states they are the more stable of the two- 21 series vs 23 series. Give Bruce a shout out (bruceinman) and see if he knows more on this.
There are a few key mappers here under How-to.. and I believe Bruce added one to his Topic Section. Installing one of these should allow you to do what you're looking to. Good luck and keep us posted on this, you may discover something we'd all love to know about! Wink

I'm glad for the improvements this forum has made and bruceinman joining it , personally I have this page bookmark since I found it  Wink ... anyway I'm still running may 16 energy rom and it works great, I haven't got any problem, I'm from Puerto Rico and almost 2 weeks ago I updated my radio to 4.49.25.91 and it made a nice increase in the signal performance but still I haven't tried my GPS since i don't use it that much.

There are a couple of SMS fixes but they are from 2009. Any newer ROMs should have the fix included.
I have never had an issue with SMS so I'm not sure either.
For key remapping, I posted the best app Here: (Post#2)
Its the shiznit! Simple to use and you can configure up to 3 actions on one key.

The only issue I've found with the SMS is that the toolbar counts don't show for messaging like they do for the other mail accounts setup.

After digging around in the registry some more; I found the commands listed under something called HTC BioTouch and was able to modify the command there.

Thank you for your advice.  The app recommendation is cool and will be put to use as well Smiley

Regarding the 'overflashing' debate: has anyone come up with a ballpark figure as to approximately how many times you can flash, or is it all a crapshoot?

I've only flashed mine 3 times, but have been holding off on updating my ROM (NRG rom from sometime in May) because of the concerns (valid or not) of damaging the phone.
