I had the Incite for a long time, kept up with everything on its forum.  Until the screen became really unresponsive.  Then I used an iPhone 3G from a week before Christmas until yesterday and I missed windows mobile every day of it.  And the iPhones speaker was broke for the phone so in general when I got some cash I was going to use my upgrade to buy another phone. I was hesitant on going back to a resistive touch screen but it was the only phone I could afford after getting truly fed up with using speaker phone since the iPhone refurbished are out of stock at the moment but I couldn't resist not having winmo back.  And with that said I have to say I am glad I went ahead and purchased the pure the touch screen has been pretty flawless and only had to change the registry for one thing so far and thats the sent notification so I guess that means finally winmo has involved and seeing as winmo 7 is going to be all capacitive screens its only going to improve even more in the future.  Well enough about my rambling lets hope we can get this forum going as good as the incite has been.

this forum is nowhere near as good as the incite forum, and prolly never will be. noone here wants to post anything, i feel like im on my own around here. if everyone would just post one thing it would make this place so much better.

Yeah diffently no DarkWolf or Hydro here.  But the Incite forum wasn't that huge when it first came out.  and its gotten some high recognition from releasing 6.5 cooked roms before 6.5 was ever out and that blew it up so much more even then.  Plus there really isn't much that have this phone the eXpo and Tilt2 are a lot more demanded winmo phones.  If I had the money I would of bought an eXpo myself instead snapdragon is about the only processor that can really run winmo at its best why this smaller phones still to this day have freezing issues and stuff.  But to us people who know how to tweak and hack the registry we are able to fix the hang ups and issues.  With the regular HTC forums and XDA we still got sources until it picks up here on things.

As much as I miss my Incite, it's been nice to have a hard reset count in the single digits!  Bluetooth seems to work better as well.

Anyone seen a GPS Utility (stock or downloadable app) for the Pure.  Incite had a great one that I miss so much.

Looking forward to learning more about the Pure!

Welcome!  I think you'll find that you like your Pure very much.  There's only a few things I miss about my Incite (3.5mm jack!!).  I've been using NaviComputer for my GPS program and like it quite a bit (www.navicomputer.com).  But, since it doesn't have turn-by-turn or navigation, I plan to try CoPilot Live real soon.

Sad truth is that now that the Pure is being jerked from the sales market, what you got now is probably all there will be. I checked here 1st for info and saw how dead it was/is, so I moved on to XDA. I DO pop in from time to time and check on the new posts, which sadly doesn't take too long. I've only posted twice in what? 2 months? I just don't know enough to help too many people out. Not that there are questions cropping up every hour or so. And again, most of the people who recently managed to get one don't know enough yet either. This forum is in a bit of a "Catch 22" scenario that appears to be non improving. I'll answer what I can and ignore what I can't.. and unfortunately, if no one here knows, people will move on to where the answers are.

Oh, I agree, it's a nice phone, after I got over my disappointment.  I wanted to swap carriers to Verizon and get Droid Eris' for the family, but apparently their coverage map is WAY off.. like 12 miles off. I could use the service everywhere BUT at home. So I had to renew with ATT and only Android phone they offer is the BackFlip, which is limited as most 3rd party apps won't work/install. This effectively neuters the bloody thing as ATT apps are .. well.. lets just say, disappointing. And the major appeal of Android tech is the fact it is easy to use/mod. So with no access to the Droid Marketplace that killed THAT idea.I saw the Pure, and found out that it has a strong following on SOME forums, like XDA, so went with that instead. I enjoy mine enough to have gotten a backup NIB stored away when I saw the wind blowing in the direction of canceled sales.

Its lame that this people just love the iphone, the great thing about the iphone is just that so manyu people have it that developement is awesome for it.  So if our Pure was this famous we would be better than the crappy iphone.

I was checking out the HTC Evo a friend of mine has and let me tell you, Anroid has got their shit DOWN! Very responsive, fast, and far more functional than the iPhone. Soooo many apps! You can access your PC remotely, stream videos from it to the player, no problems rendering or buffering, it just does what it's supposed to. And from what I'm hearing and seen about WinMo7, I think I am converting once available. but... there are newer HTC devices to be released within the next year or so that will stomp anything out there now, so I'm glad that the Pure is a decent enough phome to hold me over.

  Problem is:

AT&T is currently REFUSING to allow Android full functionality on their network. So their ONLY Android option (Moto BackFlip) is neutered to AT&T supplied apps, until various hackers make a work around. They REALLY tried pawning one off on me, but I knew better than that. If AT&T would just replace the Pure with the HTC Droid Eris, I am so outta here...  Wink But Verizon has it locked down... since they don't use SIM Cards and AT&T does.
Android REALLY lends itself to our types.. yes, I mean you, Bruce.. those that just can leave stock alone.. or like lil things like paying for things that SHOULD have been free...

On Sprint's CDMA, you can connect to Verizon's network (and visa versa) which would be great for me. AT&T coverage at my house is horrible. Sprint has the cheapest plan, and rolling out 4G, so if AT&T doesn't pull it together, ciau..... They really seem to be lagging on new releases, always looking for non-HTC products to endorse.WTF?!?!?
I once owned a motorola razr and what a POS that was. Motorola's hardware quality alone is subpar and I won't bother comparing MotoBlur to Sense. Sense just makes Sense... hehehe.
..and I wouldn't touch an apple product if it dropped on my head....  (Newton Humor)
