I was up for a phone upgrade and decided to stay with AT&T, so after a fair amount of research on the available apps, processor speed, RAM, ROM, etc., I decided to go for a Pure despite its several downfalls in reviews (slightly unresponsive touchscreen, big dongle needed for headphone use, etc.). I really REALLY wanted a Tilt2, but just could not shell out $200 just for the benefit of a little flip-out keyboard when faced with a Pure for $0.01. My Pure, as of the posting of this, is en route to my house. I am upgrading from a 260MHz BlackJack II, a good phone for its time (2-3 years ago), but could not play AVI or MPEG movies without skipping (even on its tiny screen), crashed every 2-3 months and needed a hard reset/Windows rebuild, and has a small battery with a 1-2 day lifespan between charges (using 3G internet kills it in like 20 minutes). Lots of quirks in general. Can't wait to get my hands on this new piece of shiny hardware. For my new Pure, I am seriously interested in: -Making the performance snappier (I've read it's a bit sluggish due to bloatware and a very polished User Interface; will a Touch2 ROM help this..?) -Playing AVI and MPEG movies full-screen without lag or skipping -Overclocking the 528MHz processor to... 640MHz? 768MHz even? -Acquiring a really stable/quick internet browser that supports Flash and JavaScript -Enabling Internet Sharing so I can tether it to my laptop for 3G internet I've been browsing the forums a bit, found some info already, and I'm vey excited about my new pocket PC. I was torn between this and the $99 iPhone until the Pure's price dropped to one cent, making it irresistable; I hope I made the right choice. Anyways, can't wait to start tinkering with my new Pure! Oh and additionally, I like computer/PC related things, like FPS games like UT3, Half-Life series, and Crysis/Warhead. I run an ASUS ROG laptop G60VX-RBBX05.
