Since many people who will 'eventually' make it to this site may be 'newbies' when it comes to winmo phones (heck, it wasn't that long ago I was)... I just thought it would be useful to list some apps that I consider 'useful', even with the pure:

1.  Ok, this one is a love it or hate it app.  S2U2.  For me, it's the one app I can't live without.  I even paid for some others, tried the new 6.5 lock, but still... always returned back to ol faithful.  If you havn't used or heard of it before, you gotta check it out.

2.  Advanced Configuration Tool v3.3.  Again, a must have for any winmo phone.

3.  G-Profile.  Ok, I am always switching volume/wifi/bluetooth settings depending on where I am or what I'm doing.  I use to use SPB Mobile Shell and a SPB product that handled profiles.  Well, with the pure, instead of mobile shell, I'm using touchflo and needed a replacement.  I've used G-Profile before and since I couldn't find anything else that did what I wanted, decided to give it a try again.  Works super well.  Eats up a bit of mem... but so far, so good and I'll live with that.  Assigned the quick switch part of it to the Start hard key long press of the pure and I've got a GREAT solution for this.

4.  SKTools (ok, this one isn't freeware) but a very handy tool for just all around maintenance.  Cleanup, registry editing/optimizing and just so much I couldn't begin to start.  Memmaid is another I've tried and although it's a bit prettier, it doesn't have near the features.

Ok, that's it for now, my kids are begging to go to the store.  Stay tuned for some more recommendations Smiley

I use phweaver to switch WiFi, volume, Bluetooth and Phone. and I love it cause you can create profiles to active for example the WiFi connection in one especific hour. I use it to much to enable Bluetooth every day before i exit form my job and use it in my bluetooth car stereo.

Is a little expensive but is really really useful. Check it out here there is a try version for free too
