When I send a text message I get a beep confirming it has been sent.  For the life of me, I can't figure out how to turn that beep off for outgoing texts.  It's not an option in the sounds & notifications drop-down like on my previous Windows Mobile phone (6.1).  Am I going to have to find a REG EDIT to get rid of this beep?

Go to HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications and search through sub folders for Default=> Message Send succeeded and set "wave" to "0"

I assume this is a REG EDIT?

I opened every folder in the notifications folder & I can't find anything that says message sent succeed.  What REG EDIT program are you using?

I just use the reg editor in Pocket Controller.
Try the attached cab and see if it works for you.

Nope, that didn't get rid of it.  Did you pay for Pocket Controller or is there a freeware version somewhere?  I'm using the PHM Reg Editor that I previously used on my LG Incite & I can't find the text succeed thing or anything referring to sent/sending text meesages.  Just  MMS sent & e-mail sent.

Pocket Controller is a pay app, but you can find it if you try hard enough.  There is also MyMobiler which is free, but I do not know if it has a reg editor.  I've never used it.  You can probably find out with a simple google search.  I like these emulators because I can edit from my PC. Under the notifications key, should be a bunch of sub folders with a string of letters and numbers as the name of the folder.  In each one of these sub foolders is the reg key for your notifications. There should be like 30-40 subfolders under notifications. Perhaps PHM has them hidden somehow....? Still that cab should have worked.
What ROM are you on, stock? Is it 6.1 or?
I just checked my sounds and notification settings and I do have the option for Send Succeeded, perhpas your key was removed or deleted?

I'm running the stock 6.5 WinMo.  I've gone through all of those subfolders.  Funny thing is there are two folders for MMS sent & e-mail sent.  I'm starting to think it's either not there or hidden from PHM as well.  Most likely not there considering the fact that you .cab didn't work.  Any other REG Editors I can try?

Okay.
I went through each of the subfolders that have a series of letters/numbers for their names & none of them contained anything like sent succeed or anything referring to text/sms sent.  But below all of those random subfolders is "default", "phone", "reminders", "ShellOverrides", & "sounds."  I went into the one labeled "default" & it had four files in there.  First was "duration", second was "LefRefCount", third was "options" & lastly there was "Wave."  I opened wave & changed the value name to Wave 0.  Now the beep went away when I send a text but it still vibrates.  Is there a way to get rid of the vibrate?  And was that the value I was supposed to change from the beginning, or was/is mine not where it was supposed to be?

Do you have a key {D9526884-67F7-4cb1-+8DD5-B2217B73F9F9)?
Nope, the closest one I have starts with DD.

Change Options to 0.
I am so far from stock, its hard to troubleshoot sometimes....
Also, Default may affect other sounds so you may want to test.

Do I want to change the Value Name or Value Data to 0 under options?

Try Value, but... before tweaking too much in the registry, see if you can export at least the whole notifications registry with PHM. This way if something gets messed up, you can restore it back to normal.

Okay.  I changed the first thing back to the way it was & then made a back up of the whole registry & exported the notifications folder as well.  Now I went back in & changed Wave to Wave 0 & then changed Option's value to 0 instead of 13.  I get no beep or vibration when I send a text now.  So now I have to see what else that may have affected.

Another thing that's been driving me crazy about this one is I have no way of setting my area code as my default like I could on past phones.  So now if I dial a number with the same area code as me without actually entering the area code ex. take this number 612-555-5555 & dial it as 555-5555 the call goes through just fine but in my dialed calls list it lists just the number, not the contacts name.  Same goes for send a text message without manually entering the area code.  The calls/texts go through just fine, it just doesn't show the person's name in my history.

Thanks for all the help Bruce!
